Renew Tawakal Every Time

Tawakal is the quality of a servant who believes in Allah SWT. He believes in Allah even though the path ahead is still unclear, even though many things are still vague. In the uncertainty of the journey, they live in the certainty of Allah's promise, that Allah will decree the best for His servants.

So, if you believe in the rules of life that God has arranged, you have put your trust in Him.

If you try and then leave the decision to Allah, you have put your trust in Him.

Allah Loves Those Who Trust in Him

And Allah Himself says that Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.

Indeed, God loves those who put their trust in Him.

“…indeed, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.” (Surah Ali Imran, 3:159)

When God loves His servant, what happens?

Allah will inform the chief angel, Gabriel, to love this servant. Gabriel will inform all other heavenly creatures to love this servant. This news is quoted in the authentic hadith narrated by Bukhari (Sahih Bukhari, no. 7485) .

Trust Needs to Be Constantly Renewed

However, trust does not come by itself. Trust needs to be constantly renewed because humans are prone to forgetfulness and neglect. There are days when we believe in Allah without the intervention of any creature, and there are days when we forget and trust in His creatures.

This quality of trust needs to be properly understood by Muslims, so that we do not slip into trusting in creatures.

What does it mean to trust in creatures?

This matter was described by Hatim al-Asham. He said that he saw many people surrendering and trusting in creation. Some of them trusted in their gardens, business goods, jobs, and some trusted in their health.

This means that they rely and rely on the 'creatures' that Allah created to achieve good and avoid harm. They believe that if they can master certain things, then they will be fine. They only remember Allah a little in their free time.

However, Allah is behind all these things, and Allah is the one who gives goodness and prevents harm.

When we lack trust in Allah SWT, excessive fear and worry about the fate of life can arise. The heart becomes restless because it feels that there is no way out and there is no way we can work. Remember again Allah's message that Allah will provide for our needs and save us from hardship.

And whoever puts his trust in God, He is sufficient for him.

Meaning :  And whoever submits himself completely to Allah, then Allah is sufficient for him (to help and save him).  (Surah al-Talaq 65:3)

Let us strive for tawakal. Delve into the messages of Allah through His words, and the words of His Majesty SAW about tawakal. Strengthen your confidence in the governance of Allah SWT over the lives of His servants whom He Himself created.
