UNDERSTANDING THE LANGUAGE OF GOD'S LONGING

Sometimes Allah does not call us with a voice, but with a feeling. He does not always rebuke us through words (the Quran), but through trials, loneliness, longing and loss. That is the subtle language that humans rarely read — the language of God's longing for His servants.

When life suddenly feels lonely even though there are many around, it may not be an ordinary emptiness, but rather a sign that our hearts are too far from Him. When prayer begins to lose its meaning, when prostration becomes just a movement, when dhikr feels foreign — that is a gentle, yet profound rebuke.

God does not always send calamities to awaken us. Sometimes He takes something away, not out of hatred, but out of longing. He distances us from people so that we may return to seeking Him. He brings anxiety so that we may return to prostration. He presents loss so that we may again recognize the true owner of all things.

God's longing is not like human longing. He does not call with tears, but with the peace of mind that is lost. He does not wait for our message, but waits for our heart to return home.

God's language of longing is not to hurt, but to awaken. Because He knows best when we begin to neglect, when our faith declines, and when our hearts need a touch of love from Him.

So if today your heart feels heavy for no reason, your life feels lonely without a name, or your soul feels distant without a cause — don't keep complaining to people. Maybe it's not a wound, but a calling. Maybe it's not a weakness, but an invitation.

Because there is no more noble and tender longing than God's longing for His servants. And our duty as servants is only one — to understand that signal, then return.
