• Background

• UPM Islamic University Center (PIU) was established in July 1989 with the goal of becoming a Responsibility Center (PTJ) that implements

the delivery of religious and spiritual services among UPM residents and the surrounding community.

• To support this aspiration, PIU, among others, has the role of planning and implementing activities by focusing on:

1. authentic excellence and human capital taking into account intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual development;
2. religion and spirituality that generate the empowerment of aqidah, worship and morals to give birth to the generation of Khair Ummah and realize human beings who

characterized by Ahsan Al-Taqwim;

• spiritual and religious strengthening to strengthen faith, piety and compassion in accordance with the development of the era of globalization and ICT;

1. integrating knowledge, skills, faith and charity in an integrated manner to produce people with first-class mentality, superior personality and noble character; and
2. provide full cooperation to PTJ in UPM, government agencies, the private sector and customers in Islamic affairs and the like for the future of Islam and its people.

• All of the aforementioned activities are carried out with the aim of creating a superior society and civilization in line with PIU's vision and MISSION.

• In line with this role, PIU has planned various spiritual and religious activities including collaboration with the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais).

• The “Pre-Wedding Course” program is an annual activity of UPM Islamic Center in preparation for couples who are about to get married. This course is organized in collaboration with the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) based on the Islamic Pre-Marriage Course Integrated Module that has been provided. It is hoped that this course will be able to provide guidance to participants as a basic supply to build excellent households according to Islamic concepts.

•     Objective

Among the objectives of organizing this program are to:

1. Shaping a husband/wife who has a foundation of religious knowledge in the construction of Islamic households.
2. Shaping Islamic household morals in family life.
3. Providing exposure regarding husband/wife's responsibilities in terms of Syara’.
4. Providing spiritual and physical preparation to couples who will set up a household.

•    Impact on PIU and UPM

Organizing this course will have a significant impact on PIU and UPM as follows:

1. Learn and understand the importance OF PIU in moving with external agencies to improve the quality of knowledge, skills and appreciation of Islam systematically, efficiently and effectively;
2. Providing exposure to UPM residents related to the procedures and procedures for applying for marriage which is an important matter in household construction.
   • Making the University Islamic Center as a Service Center for the development of the ummah which is always relevant through the variety of activities organized.
3. Establishing cooperation with all parties on and off campus in providing knowledge to UPM residents and the local community, as well as fostering sustainable relationships;
