The journey of raising children is a colorful journey. There are challenges, there are joys and there are definitely sad moments. However, as parents, especially those who still have young children, there are a few things that need to be remembered in the journey of raising them.
Many people want their children to be good at reading and know alif, ba, ta at an early age. Some send their children to fardu ain classes before they enter kindergarten to ensure that they don't fall behind when they enter school.
But, while we enjoy educating our children, we should not forget to educate ourselves. If we have forgotten the basic knowledge of religion, it is appropriate for us to learn it again.
A harmonious relationship does not mean no fighting and no problems. A harmonious relationship is when problems arise, both parties try to find a way to achieve peace again. Isn't the main purpose of marriage to achieve balance and peace? (Read more Try to Achieve Peace in the Home )
Among the challenges parents face today are gadgets. Some parents are no longer able to control their children's screen time when restrictions often lead to tantrums and quite frightening situations.
However, change takes practice. Just as you want your children to not just be attached to their gadgets, so too do you as a parent. If your job often requires you to be with your gadgets, then explain to your children that you need to work using your gadgets, then create a gadget-free time of an hour or two a day to do activities with your children.
He was sent to the Muslims to perfect good morals. Therefore, morals are not something that should be taken lightly. Nor is it something that children can understand and know for themselves.
A simple example is when you make your children act recklessly at someone's house, even though you haven't taught them the etiquette of visiting people. Even if you have taught them, it needs to be repeated because children can also forget many things that interest them.
Children are still children, so don't treat them like we are treating an adult. They deserve to be treated according to their age. Be kind, that is, treat them in the best and most appropriate way. Love them unconditionally. Also love your partner because the effects can also be felt by the children.
Being brave doesn't mean speaking rudely and without manners. Being brave is being brave to voice your feelings, ideas and opinions. Don't assume that when they question something, they are acting rude. Teach them the appropriate way. This can foster them to discuss healthily and not hold back emotions.
There are times when you can't protect and monitor your children 24 hours a day. They are also more likely to be exposed to negative elements after being outside the home and meeting many people.
Pray to Allah that they are always protected from any harm. We are servants who have limited power and ability. So, leave the rest to Allah, Who is the One Who governs the affairs of His creatures.
The journey of raising children actually educates us to become more mature in various things. Take the opportunity to learn every day. Forgive past weaknesses and mistakes and continue to be enthusiastic to be better parents in the future.
