Parents are the ones who brought us into the world in difficult and challenging circumstances; the exhaustion of a mother who is pregnant for nine months, the pain of fighting for her life during childbirth and also the efforts of parents who support and care for us until we reach adulthood. We are in this world because of them, no matter how much they lack or not.
There is no doubt that some people grow up in unhealthy and challenging family environments. Perhaps they did not feel love from their parents since childhood, and eventually chose to stay away after they grew up. Some also say that the treatment of the eldest, middle and youngest children is different. Added to this is their many different troubles after reaching their golden years. However, those are the only mothers and fathers we have in this world.
If anyone finds it difficult to love and cherish them in return, at least pray that they will always be given guidance and blessings in their remaining years.
( Allahummarzuk ummi )
O Allah, bless my mother.
( Barakatan fi 'umurihaa )
Blessings on his age
( Wa nuuron fi qalbihaa )
And the light in his heart
(And I will tell you)
The truth of wajhiha
(Wasi'atan fi rizqihaa)
And the vastness of his sustenance
(Waridhon fi nafsiha)
And contentment with oneself
(Wasrif 'anha kulla suuin wa maradh)
And turn away from it all evils and diseases.
This prayer can be an additional prayer to other prayers that are often recited. It does not matter whether to recite it in Malay or Arabic.
May the long distance feel close with this prayer recited. May Allah grant goodness to mothers in whatever their circumstances, as well as patience to yourself to serve them better. InsyaAllah.
