Funeral Management Matter

 

The University Islamic Centre and UPM Mosque officials consistently provide excellent, comprehensive funeral management services.

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, these services cover the entire process—from the ritual washing of the deceased to the burial.

The services are carried out by the Funeral Management Committee.

UPM Serdang Mosque Funeral Management Services

SERVICES PROVIDED:

  • Funeral management Assistance with death registration
  • Funeral transport
  • Advisory services for the next of kin Guidance for *Tahlil* (remembrance/prayer) gatherings
  • Services performed by trained personnel
  • Bereavement and reflection room

FUNERAL RITES AND PROCEDURES

  • Transporting the deceased from home/hospital to the mosque
  • Bathing the deceased
  • Shrouding the deceased Performing the funeral prayer (*Solat Jenazah*)
  • Transporting the deceased to the cemetery or the family's local community burial ground
  • Burial at Serdang Cemetery or the family's local community burial ground
  • Recitation of Talkin (final instructions/reminders for the deceased)
  • Recitation of Tahlil



The University Islamic Centre and UPM Mosque also provide services for the burial of deceased fetuses and the burial of newborn placentas. These procedures are carried out by the duty officer or imam, who will designate a suitable location within the UPM mosque grounds.

The University Islamic Centre manages a Funeral Assistance Trust Fund specifically for UPM staff; contributions can be made via monthly salary deductions, offering significant benefits to the UPM community.
