There are days when we pray with burning passion — tears flow, the heart feels close to Allah.
But there are also days when our prostration feels empty, our dhikr feels dull, and our du’a seems to touch nothing.
At that moment, we begin to wonder — has my worship been rejected? Has Allah distanced Himself from me?
In truth, worship is not measured by feeling.
It is not about how strong the emotion is, but about how faithful we remain in doing it — even when the heart feels “nothing.”
Feeling is a gift, not a requirement.
Sometimes Allah grants us serenity and khushu‘ so our hearts stay strong.
Sometimes He takes it away so that we may learn sincerity.
Because if we only worship when our hearts feel like it, that is not devotion — that is obedience to our emotions, not to our Lord.
Allah Almighty says:
“Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.”
(Surah Taha, 20:14)
Allah did not say, “Pray when you feel like it.”
He said, “Establish prayer to remember Me.”
It is a command — not an option. It is a way to draw near, not something that depends on emotion.
In every dry prostration, Allah is testing us:
Do we worship out of love, or only out of mood?
Do we still stand upon the prayer mat when our soul no longer trembles?

Worship is not about fleeting emotion — it is about steadfastness born from faith.
The Prophet ï·º said:
“The deeds most loved by Allah are those done consistently, even if they are few.”
(Bukhari and Muslim)
This means that no matter how small the act, as long as it continues, it is great in Allah’s sight.
So when your prayer feels empty — don’t stop.
When your du’a feels silent — continue.
When your dhikr feels heavy — force your tongue to keep remembering Him.
Because perhaps in that very moment of emptiness, Allah is recording your worship as a sign of true sincerity.
Worship does not always have to feel beautiful.
What matters is that it continues — even when the heart is in battle.
For what Allah values most is not the tears that fall,
but the heart that always returns — even without feeling.
